FAN Courier's national hub at Stefanesti in its first three phases — the starting point of a collaboration that, over 11 years, defined the operational base of the largest Romanian courier company. The complex, built between 2007 and 2018, grew from around 11,000 sqm to 34,000 sqm of gross floor area, alongside FAN Courier's transformation into a market leader.

Challenges

In 2007, the project meant sizing a facility for a company in a phase of accelerated growth, whose final volumes could not be precisely anticipated. The two later extensions — body C4 in 2013 and body C5 in 2018 — were carried out on a site in full operation: the new halls had to be erected, connected and commissioned without stopping the daily sorting flows.

Solutions

• A G+4F administrative headquarters built in 2007. For a growing Romanian logistics company, the decision to build a five-level headquarters expressed the ambition of a distinct corporate identity and provided an urban landmark that structured the complex for everything that followed.
• Two successive extensions on an operational site. Adding bodies C4 and C5 required careful sequencing of execution, connections and commissioning, so that daily sorting could continue uninterrupted. The client's operational continuity was a design requirement, not a consequence.

Result

A 34,000 sqm hub (gross floor area) delivered in three stages over 11 years — the base that would later make possible the third major extension, completed in 2025. For PPAE, the first long chapter of a collaboration with the leader of the Romanian courier market.
